Recreation facilities closed until further notice

To the Campus Community:

Beginning Monday, March 16, all UCLA Recreation facilities will be closed until further notice. Please know that this decision is guided by our top priority of protecting the health and safety of our Bruin and global communities, in what continues to be a rapidly evolving environment. Science tells us that reducing population density helps slow the spread of the virus.

Recreational activities are an important way for communities to maintain a sense of normalcy, relieve stress and anxiety, and build resilience. In the days and weeks ahead, UCLA Recreation will focus its efforts on continuing to provide these benefits to the community through our website, social media channels like @uclarec, and Move Mail

As the situation develops at UCLA and in Los Angeles, please expect updates on the status of facilities and programs.

With this interruption in services we understand that many of you will have questions or concerns about your membership or program registration. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding while we develop resources to process these requests and transactions.

If you have any personal items stored in a locker that must be retrieved, collection times are as follows for John Wooden Center, Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, North Pool, Student Activities Center and Kinross Recreation Center:

  • Monday, March 16 – 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5pm to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 17 – 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5pm to 7 p.m.

For those who aren’t able to collect personal belongings during the designated times, lockers will remain secure and will not be cleared. For any questions, please email info@recreation.ucla.edu.

Thank you,

Erinn McMahan
Executive Director, UCLA Recreation
